If this is the best mushroom guide app, then I'd advise you to go buy a good paper field guide instead. This app has some nice photos, but it is mostly just big lists of mushroom species with thumbnails that are too small to be useful. Once you select a particular mushroom, there's a minimal description. No links to similar species. Not much help for field identification. ...because there are multiple photographs of various species, and mushrooms show much variation in appearance.

Recent updates for iOS5 will probably improve the app greatly. I'd say more but the HUGE file (519MB) is still downloading. Isn't it possible to upgrade an app without reloading all the media files? Thumbnails too small (2 stars)
I love having this field guide info at my finger tips, but I'd you don't know what you're looking for these really won't help. Unlike the hard-copies, the thumbnail pics are so small they are useless on both the iPhone and iPad. I've finally become frustrated enough to post this on all the guides I've purchased with the hope that others will agree and get the developers attention since this I really the only major flaw in thaw otherwise exce
