Description

Macworld.com Rating:
"Pick of the Week" at MacBreak Weekly 162

Notebooks is a wonderful App, which is so much better than the dozen other note apps I tried on my iPhone. It is sophisticated, in an unassuming way, so that you find yourself greatly rewarded and being productive without sacrificing time/effort to the App. I cannot tell you how much productivity I have gained by staying with your Notebooks. I am having a huge amount of fun, I use it constantly, more than the phone on my iPhone in fact." - Craig, Australia

You are GTD in every way that makes it efficient and makes me efficient.

Notebooks is the one and only notebook that you'll ever need. It allows you to create as many virtual books as you need to write, store and structure your details of life, and so it can quickly become the one and only repository for all your journals, ideas, notes, drafts, diaries, projects, task lists and everything else you want to keep close at hand.

Notebooks stores and displays almost any document you want to carry with you: text and HTML, PDF documents, MS Office or iWork documents, web pages, photos, videos, music and even your Palm memos. Everything you would usually print out and file can now go directly into Notebooks, without adding bulk.

There is one more thing: keep your task lists in Notebooks and tick off your to-dos as you complete them. Divide your projects into nested sub projects, which makes them easier to handle, and cross-reference to your reference library, which you keep in Notebooks, too. When a task reaches its due date, Notebooks' badge on the home screen reminds you of pending business, and an optional acoustic alert tries to draw your attention.

Notebooks combines the power of multiple apps:

Note Taker
Text Processor
Markdown Composer
Task Manager
File Storage
Clipboard Manager

Customer Reviews

From great to bad (1 star)
I previously gave this app a really good review for the 4.x version. The 5.0 update broke a lot of stuff. (1) Notes that used to fit perfectly on the screen now require horizontal scrolling; (2) Trying to add your own style gives you a window with no scroll bar so there's no way to edit the end of the style; (3) the Sync icon doesn't go away when it should; (4) Notes don't always scroll back to the top (really annoying); (5) Sometimes the ap

Could be Great (4 stars)
If I could I would give this 3.5 stars, but the update (for me) is closer to 4 than 3.
Editing a note works now, as well as adding a new note. Synchronizing with DropBox works, too. I like the new types of paper this version has. Still love the protection locking, PDF downloading, picture adding, and new tasks. Now onto the bad stuff...
Scrolling freezes, even for a few milliseconds, it still annoys me. When I'm in one of my books a
