What's New in Version 1.4.0- Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts- Retina display support - Expanded weather modules - Stability enhancements Customer ReviewsRetina Icon, Still Not Retina Map (4 stars)Well they made the icon retina quality for the iPad but they are still using low resolution Bing maps which is disappointing. And the new version has larger ads, of course. So if you already have the free version installed, don't bother with this upgrade. Otherwise the app works fine, the typeface on the forecasts etc. are quite sharp and legible, transitions are fluid. Well done over all, again just need better map face. Solid app, poor marketing decisions. (4 stars) Update 5/21/12: Hooray for the retina update! This app looks gorgeous on my new iPad and remains the best designed weather app for iPad in my opinion. However, there are still two glaring omissions that keep this app from being rated five stars. First, though all the artwork in the app was updated to the high resolution of the new iPad, the maps remain low resolution and rather ugly. This wouldn't be such a big deal except that the My Favorite Weather App (4 stars) I frequently track the weather on my iPad and WeatherBug is my favorite free option. I like its "no nonsense" design that gives me the maps and info I want immediately.
