Description

Eating right is hard. My Daily Plate makes it easier, even fun. Using the USDAs new ChooseMyPlate.gov icon, My Daily Plate helps you make more informed, nutritious and rewarding decisions throughout the day. Start thinking about what goes on your plate before your next meal.

All too often, people looking to eat right, eat wrong. Erring on the side of too much protein, too few fruits, or out of proportion portions. My Daily Plate helps monitor your daily nutritional progress not just by showing you what to eat but how much. Because the key to better eating is balanced eating. And the key to a happier you is a healthier you.

My Daily Plate has four components:

TODAYS PLATE
- Eating a balanced meal is now easier than you think with the help of Today's Plate.
- Filling your plate is quick and easy. Just tap the food group, item, and quantity.
- The plate clears itself at midnight so you can start fresh the next morning.
- A healthy way to monitor everything you eat in the course of a day.

MY PROGRESS
- Track your progress visually, without deciphering lots of figures.
- Yesterday - Check and see how you did the previous day.
- Past Week - Get an average of the recorded days in the past week.*
- Overall - Get an average of the recorded days since the date of your first entry.*

HISTORY
- View your eating habits on a specific day.
- Make corrections to previous entries.
- Add entries you forgot to make.

SETTINGS
- Change/correct your personal information.
- Enable/disable the alert messages you receive when you reach a specific daily goal.
- Our nutritional information database is automatically updated daily.
- Delete all the entries in your database to wipe the slate clean and start again.

* These reports only factor in days you made entries. So if you only want to use the app Monday-Friday, the overall reports will not be skewed by missing weekend data.

What's New in Version 1.2

- Resolved launching issue for iOS 4.3 users.
- Revised the 'History' listing.
- Added 47% more nutrition data from the USDA on May 29, 2012

Customer Reviews

Need to add my own food (3 stars)
Love the option to add my own food to the list. I can't find it on the list and there is nowhere to add it. Love this option in next update!! If so I'd give this 5 stars easily. Love the app and ease of usage. But please let me add my own stuff that is not on the list.
UPDATE...what happened to the calendar view??? I liked that feature. Why did you take it away with the update? Please put it back!!!!!!

Update to iPad Compatible (3 stars)
This says it's iPad compatible but it is on a screen 1/4th the size of my actual screen. Although its only $1, I'm still a little irritated by it. Otherwise good.

Good idea... (2 stars)
I really like how clean and easy to use it is, but I can't add food, and the food list is very very limited. I was hoping to use it regularly, but at least a third of the stuff I eat (fruit/veggies included) isn't on here, so I rarely use it. Good idea, but it desperately needs updates. Glad I only wasted a dollar.
