"Wonderful tool. It provides me with all I need to maintain a low carbohydrate lifestyle".

"Great App!!!!! I have been recently diagnosed with pre diabetes, and this app is really helping me plan menus to help me get the most from my diet..."

"I love it."

Glycemic Index is a measure of the impact of a food on your blood sugar / glucose levels. The higher the index value, the more that food raises your blood sugar. Managing the GI of the foods you eat may be an important step in maintaining a healthy diet, especially for diabetics and people on low carb diets.

With a few taps, you can search through thousands of foods, color-coded by high-, medium-, and low-GI ratings. Next, select a serving size based on common servings (or select by weight -- grams, ounces, or pounds). This will bring up a convenient view of each food's GI, glycemic load (a measure of the impact of your selected serving on blood sugar), net carbs (total carbs minus dietary fiber), and a macronutrient breakdown pie chart.

You can quickly 'log' this food as eaten. The food log feature allows you to see the average GI of all foods (a weighted average based on amount consumed), the total glycemic load of all the foods, total net carbs, total calories, and a macronutrient breakdown. Plus, quickly review the GI of each meal, plus see a sum total of the each meal's average GI and total GL.

Nice App (3 stars)
I like this app. It is very helpful for tracking what you eat. I would like to see it made easier to locate foods and save them for future use. It is time consuming looking up the same thing repeatedly. I also wish the log could be edited more easily. Also it's hard to find exact combinations when you fix homemade recipes. For me these things are a mere inconvenience, but for others that need to monitor their diets closely, it could a r

This has potential, BUT..... (2 stars)
The graphics are nice, but it is a pain to reenter foods that are eaten every day. There needs to be a place to store personal favorites for easy access. I emailed the developer and no response. Keep looking for that feature in an app.

Needs a favorites option (3 stars)
I have a blood glucose issue and have to keep my blood sugar as steady as possible. This app has been useful to see the GL of the combination of the foods I eat. Having thousands of foods in the database is impressive but also time consuming and overwhelming! This app needs a favorites list option. I eat my chicken the same every time and I don't like that I have to scroll through 30 different options of chicken breasts to find the one I nee
