MoneyWell is the modern personal finance application based on the time-tested envelope budgeting system. Instead of carrying around wads of cash divided into various expense envelopes, MoneyWells fresh twist takes advantage of the convenience of ATMs and debit card purchases and gives fingertip access to virtual envelopes (buckets) so users can make decisions based on their budget, not cash in bank.

MoneyWell was designed for fast data entry so users can capture purchases quickly and easily at the point of sale. After all, what good is a mobile finance app if you dont want to use it?

MoneyWell on the iPhone works as a standalone application, but its even more powerful when used in conjunction with MoneyWell for Mac. Users can synchronize their MoneyWell document between multiple Mac and iOS devices using Dropbox. Sync from anywhere you have an internet connection.

Like the desktop version, MoneyWell for iPhone gives you a bucket list that shows you your available spending money at a glance, so you can make wise spending decisions on the fly.

- Fixed an issue where the amount editor wasn't taking currency into account when editing an amount
- Fixed an issue where bucket transfers between buckets of different currencies were being created with unexpected amounts

Buggy and Broken (1 star)
I can get the all to do an initial sync, but any syncing after that fails to transfer new transactions made on the Mac. There are also a lot of crashes, and some odd navigation glitches.

Needs a lot of work. Definitely not worth the asking price.

The Best Budgeting Software Available (5 stars)
I,ve used several of these products and found Moneywell to be the best; in fact, as long as its only available for the Mac, then I will remain a Mac user.

My loyalty to the Mac Version now extends to the iPad app, as the sync version has recently been updated, this review is a bit premature, I won't pretend to suggest that the iPad app compares to the stand alone version or that the syncing feature has performed flawlessly to date.<

Now crashes on startup (1 star)
A tragic tale in 3 parts, and counting. (Realise this: I don't normally review apps, and yet this little piece of software which I used to depend on and advocate for has driven me to write nasty things on just about every release.)

Update again, for 1.5.3: to his (yes, his, I've anthropomorphized Moneywell, which is the only way to deal with my hatred) credit, getting Moneywell to sync has become a much less fearful prospect. I no l
