Above Mean Sea Level is a one touch solution to computing density altitude. Just launch the app, and the rest is automatic. The app uses your current location, retrieves METAR information from the U.S. National Weather Service for numerous airports within a selected radius, then uses the data for the nearest airport to compute density altitude. Data to compute the density altitude can also be entered manually. All data is displayed in a familiar iPhone format. This app works worldwide.

High density altitude adversely affects aircraft performance. The data from this app should not be solely relied upon. Preflight planning, including computing density altitude, when a consideration, should be accomplished using the appropriate aircraft and flight manuals.
